F8 Photography will run a small group photography workshop based in the Altai Mountains, Western Mongolia, to live with and document the lives and hunting techniques of several families of Kazakh Eagle Hunters.

OVERVIEW

This workshop is for photographers wishing to enhance their composition, portraiture and storytelling ability with their portfolio, concentrating on producing a series of images documenting the area and people we spend time with throughout the workshop.

This workshop will run from Sunday 23rd February to Saturday 29th February 2020 inclusive.

WEATHER

The weather on this workshop will be very cold, but don’t worry, we will provide you with an extensive kit list to ensure you have the right equipment with you to stay warm and have fun!

SEATS

CURRENTLY, THERE ARE 3 SPACES LEFT ON THIS WORKSHOP (AS AT 15 JAN 2020)

This workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 persons only for an exclusive small-group experience.

ROUGH ITINERARY

Gary jointly led a workshop the same location in November 2019 and everything is in place to ensure you have an epic experience in one of the most photogenic parts of the world.

We will live in traditional Mongolian Gers in the valley with majestic mountain views all around. You will be kept warm throughout the night by our team of firemen who will ensure the Gers have heating throughout the night (It’s usually almost too warm at night inside the Ger, so don’t worry about that!).

Each participant will work on their own photo project throughout the workshop, and we will have group discussion and slideshow portfolio reviews each night as a group and learning from seeing what each other shoot at the same locations each day.

- Landscape Photography in amazing desert-scapes with snowcapped mountains.
- Natural light portraiture of the some of the most amazing human subjects you will ever see.
- Action shots of eagle hunters charging on horseback, and eagles hunting in the mountains.
- Nomad family life in and around their natural habitat.
